Free Services

  • Computer/Internet Access: There are terminals located throughout the library. Patrons are limited to one hour once per day. To use the computers you must present a valid library card or driver's license at the Reference Desk. The library not only offers web access, but patrons can also use some Microsoft applications (Word, Publisher, PowerPoint). The library is a free wireless HotSpot! Computers with educational games and software are available for children to use, they are located in the Juvenile Department. The library also offers a state of the art computer lab for residents of North Bergen and Guttenberg, ages 18 and over. View our "Computer Lab Conduct Policy" here. View the lab hours here.
  • Interlibrary Loans: As a member of the Bergen County Cooperative Library System (BCCLS) North Bergen residents can request for books to be sent from one of the other 72 BCCLS libraries. For more information visit or call the Reference Desk (201-869-4715 option #3).
  • Reciprocal Borrowing: Patrons with a valid North Bergen Library card are allowed to check out or return materials at any of the BCCLS libraries.

 

Fee-Based Services Printer

  • Copy Machines: There are three copy machines located throughout the library. Copying can be done on 8 1/2" x 11" or 8 1/2" x 14" paper at $.15/page.
  • Computer Print Outs: Black and white printing is available from all computer terminals for $.10/page.
  • Floppy Disk Sales: To save your work, visit the Reference Desk and purchase a floppy disk for $1.00 each.
  • Fax Machine: Rates are $1.00/page when sending to a toll free or local exchange. Other area codes cost $2.00 for the first page and $1.00 for each additional page. To send and international fax, the charge is $3.00 for the first page and $2.00 for each additional page.
  • Microfiche: Prints can be made for $.10/page.

BooksUsed Books for Sale

  • Hardcover books are $.25 each
  • Paperbacks are 3 for $.25

The books are donations and/or discarded books from our collection. The books for sale are located opposite the restrooms on the ground floor.
